It will be 2 years since Jim Grelis passed away on 7th June 2017. His loss is still felt deeply by family members and friends but he still lives on in our hearts. To honour his memory, join us on one of Jim’s favourite events: The Albert Parkrun, Melbourne.
Many of you may know that Jim took part in this event as long as he possibly could and revelled in the support he received from so many of the runners and organisers. One of the ways Jim managed his illness was by exercising as much as possible, maintaining a good level of fitness always helped him recover from chemotherapy treatment.
If you would like to participate in this public event than please go to the website: Albert parkrun, Melbourne | Albert parkrun, Melbourne and register.
Then you will receive a barcode that you will be able to PRINT, so that your time can be recorded. (Make sure you bring a PRINTED barcode as phones cannot be scanned).
Walking is also a good option and one many in our group maybe advocating. The length is 5km and you should be finished in an hour. The event starts promptly at 8am, but if you arrive at say 7.35 or thereabouts, we can have a chat before the event’s start. There is also a pre-event briefing from officials at 7.50.
Afterwards you may have time to go to Emerald Hill Cafe, at 189 Bank Street, South Melbourne.
If you happen to have one of those T shirts worn by Jim: Midday Milers, ANZ Running, 50/100 Parkruns, then you may find our group more easily!
Best Wishes,
Katherin Grelis and family
