17 June 2022. BSAR members were called out to assist in a one-day search for a man missing near Flinders.
Training Weekend Fryers Range
4-5 June 2022. BSAR members and prospective members attended the training weekend in the Fryers Range. The training included participation in the VRA rogaine on the Saturday followed by workshops on Sunday. Workshops covered topics including line searching, GPS, hypothermia and communication. Given the various challenges leading up to the weekend, the training organisers are to be commended for their efforts in pulling together an informative program.
Search for missing person Halls Gap
22 May 2022. BSAR members were called out to assist in a search for a 50-year old man missing after a day walk in Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park near Halls Gap. Searchers were stood down a little after midnight when the missing man was found.
Search for missing person Dinner Plain
14-17 May 2022. BSAR searchers participated for four days during the search for a 70-year old man missing at Dinner Plain. Unfortunately, the missing man has still not been found.
Search for missing person Anglers Rest
5 May 2022. BSAR members were called out to assist in a search for a 58-year old man missing at Anglers Rest, near Omeo. The man was located prior to BSAR searchers’ arrival.
