Search attendance requirements

You must be a BSAR member and respond to a call-out to attend a search.  Non-member cannot attend searches.

Members are required to arrive at the specified departure point for a search by the designated time.

You must carry food and equipment to be independent for up to three days should this be necessary.

In the event of a prolonged search, return transport cannot be guaranteed for a shorter search period than two days.

You should notify your employer of your absence. Police can provide a attendance certificate for your participation on request.

Some guidance on food and gear is given in other sections of this manual.

Police and BSAR provide specialised equipment.
