Kiera, 23, one of four NSW TAFE students on a skiing trip to Victoria's highest mountain, had injured her knee and could not stand.
Eight members of the Victoria Police search and rescue squad travelled to Cleve Cole hut on the mountain where she and three companions were waiting. Adverse weather conditions prevented the use of a helicopter.
The rescue included a long stretcher haul from Cleve Cole hut to Eskdale Spur, followed by a descent of Eskdale then Granite Flat spurs to a waiting police 4WD.
